Classic Cocktail Twist: The Moscow Mule
A Moscow Mule is one of my favorite drinks of all time. The zippy, refreshing bite of ginger, carbonation, and some bright fresh citrus. With Spring and Summer fast on the way (hello daylight savings time!) what better way to celebrate than with a low calorie, low sugar, extra delicious upgrade to the Moscow Mule.
Introducing: THE SKINNY MULE
It's so simple. It's so good.
Infuse your favorite bottle of vodka with Ginger ParTea, add soda water (double points if you have a soda stream at home) and finish off with a squeeze of lime, or lemon if you prefer.
Let's break down the benefits.
A traditional Moscow Mule recipe calls for 1.5oz vodka and 4oz of ginger beer. That mere 4oz of ginger beer packs 64 calories and a whopping 16g of sugar. This is also if you get 3 drinks out of a can of ginger beer. I often only get 2 per can. When you're summertime day drinking, a little extra mixer can help you go a long way. That ratio (6oz ginger beer) has 96 calories and 24g of sugar.
But what about our summer bods?
To compare, a Ginger ParTea Skinny Mule has just 5 calories and less than 1g of sugar. Plus, it's made with real, organic ginger, which helps to settle an upset stomach, and has natural anti-inflammatory properties. The only question that remains...who will you make a Skinny Mule for first?
